Driveway and Patio Prep
Grade and base for concrete driveways, aprons and patios, hardscape prep, and driveway sealing.
Which one do you need?
Often it’s more than one. A wall usually needs a drain behind it. A pad usually needs clearing first and might need rock broken. A teardown ends in grading. Those are the reasons one crew for all of it saves a phone call and a gap in the schedule. Tell us what the ground is doing, send a picture, and we’ll tell you what we’d do first.

Picking the right service
What does an excavating contractor do?
We move and shape ground so something can be built on it or so water stays off it. For us that’s 8 lines of work: grading and pads, excavation, clearing, drainage, retaining walls, utility trenching, demolition, and driveway and patio prep. Commercial and residential both.
What is the difference between land clearing and grading?
Clearing takes off what’s on the ground: trees, stumps, brush and rock. Grading shapes the dirt underneath to the right elevation and slope. A building lot usually needs clearing first, and on many of our jobs one crew does both without a second contractor to schedule.
Do you work on residential and commercial sites?
Both. Commercial work runs to demolition, excavation, grading, land clearing, trenching and underground utilities. Residential adds French drains, waterproofing, sump pumps, retaining walls, tree and stump removal, and driveway and patio prep. Grading and clearing appear on both lists, since a pad is a pad.
Which service do I need for standing water in my yard?
Start with drainage, which usually means a French drain, regrading the yard, or both, and sometimes a sump pump where the water has no lower place to go. Take a picture during or just after rain and send it; that one photo shows more than a dry-day visit.
